OneCNC Series Updates

This is a history of all OneCNC updates.

You may notice sometimes there can be a jump in version numbers.

This is due to intensive and continual internal testing where we thoroughly test versions before releasing proven functional updates.

OneCNCXR8 Release 62.62

OneCNC has released a new update for OneCNCXR8 version 62.62

The major changes in this version update are listed here.

1384 True Type Fonts
User reported adding True Type Font to the system and not being able to select it in OneCNC.
Windows 10 now saves fonts to user data so now OneCNC also initialises this.

1363 Profile Function
If users selected an inappropriate tool type in Mill Profile for example selection a spot drill this could cause a crash. Protection was added for users selecting the wrong tool type.

1378 Clean Circle Function
Multiple parts with clean circle was calling tool change between operations. Now corrected.

1366 Profiler Nesting
It was found that not exiting a manual nest could cause an exception. This release corrects it for those users that do not exit the function.

1371 Tool File Lathe
Corrected the tool history that existed in the tool file install

1372 1377 Languages
A new Japanese Language update was added to this release.
A new Chinese translation was added to this release

1380 Lathe finish toolpath Cut to End Setting
Lathe finish cut to end setting was improved to observe the cut to end unchecked setting.

1382 Lathe Turn-Rough with smart boundary
Lathe Turn Rough with Smart Boundary was updated to improve handling of boundary

1379 Lathe Turn-Rough
Lathe Turn Rough was updated to better handle tool path profiles that have undercuts

1367 Print Setup not memorized
The print setup information which can be accessed from 'Setup' button at the left bottom of the Print dialog settings were not memorized.
This update corrects that problem.

1368 Printing Scaled 2D drawing
This is a report about printing a drawing created with 3D to 2D drawing function.
When adding a new drawing with a scale setting that is not 1:1 there was a printing problem.
This update corrects that problem.

You will notice that there are numbers accociated with each listed change these are OneCNC internal numbers.

OneCNCXR8 Release 62.61

OneCNCXR8 Version 62.61 is now released

OneCNC is pleased to announce yet again some great new features to enhance the software.

Toolpath times Calculations are now added.

Lathe Toolpaths

Lathe toolpaths have new improved approximate times for toolpaths

This applies to all versions of OneCNCXR8 Lathe

Lathe settings using CSS time calculation now emulates the machine constant surface speed control to create time approximation similar to the actual machine machining times.
There is now a setting in the Lathe post for the Tool Change time that should be set to the time your machine takes on average to change tools. Depending on the size and number of tools in the turret approximate time should be added to the post to suit the average time taken. Due to the time variation that can vary depending on the next tool position in the turret you should use an average time to suit.
Lathe settings using the RPM programming method are also calculated and handled with this improved time calculations.

New tool change time variable has been added to the post.

Milling Toolpaths
Lathe toolpaths have new improved approximate times for toolpaths

This applies to all versions of OneCNC Mill

Mill time calculation now emulates the machine cycles for the drilling to create time approximation similar to the actual machine drilling times.
There is now a setting in the Mill post for the Tool Change time that should be set to the time your machine takes on average to change tools. Depending on the size and number of tools in the mill carousel approximate time should be added to the post to suit the average time taken. Due to the time variation that can vary depending on the next tool position in the carousel you should use an average time to suit. This would have to suit the fact some machines already have the next tool available without having to index the carousel.

New tool change time variable has been added to the post.

Other changes and additions

These are the major changes and fixes in this release

Mill Traditional Pocket
Mill traditional Pocket was improved to better handle using helix entry in confined spaces. Care should always be takes to ensure the helix size will fit withing the boundaries because if there is not enough room it will revert to the choice of plunge or ramp entry.

Lathe Prime Support
Improvement was made to the functionality of the Prime B insert toolpaths. I you use this insert just check your tool file to ensure the trailing angle is set at 5 deg not 25 deg. This tip is essentially a turning and facing tip and some users were attempting to use it as a grooving tip.

Improved Modelling
There is a major improvement to the internal core modelling. This includes the functionality of filleting merging and unironing of model components. The improvement to modelling can also affect the import of models because models are created on import.

 Help File
The help file (English) had been improved now with the inclusion of all the basic newOneCNCXR8 functionality.

Help Menu Tutorial
Help menu tutorial links were corrected to open the tutorials

Languages
German Language translation was updated
Japanese Language translation was updated

Scissor Trimming Function
The Scissor “sketch” function has been corrected.

Tool List
The tool list has been updated to correct the trailing angles of the Prime type B tips. This new Updated Tool List is now named Default_Library_metric.xml

Mill Profile
Mill profile function had a problem where the tool retracted if the radius being cut was less than the tool radius. This is now corrected.

OneCNCXR8 Release 62.59

OneCNCXR8 Release 62.59 is now available in the update server for all licenced OneCNCXR8 Users.

This is a major update because of new added functionality and new XR8 Help file added.

This update is applicable to all versions of OneCNCXR8

New Help File (English)

The new updated help file starts to cover the new added functionality of the OneCNCXR8 versions

New Arc Tangent Function

The new added functionality is new arc construction functionality found in the arc commands called "Arc Tangent" for wireframe geometry construction.

This new function creates many new arc possibilities in a new interactive cursor user controlled selection method.

Woking similar to the Line Tangent in the line menu provides new feature rich functionality to improve wireframe geometry construction.
The function creates arcs of a given radius covering extensive possibilities which can be real-time savers..
It does not trim due to its advanced construction possibilities then jallows the user to trim using the normal trim and editing functions.
Some of the possibilities are similar to the fillet command but extends the possibilities by also using added control features of circles splines arcs lines and points..

Mill profile was modified to assist in preventing Z lifts within the profile being cut.

Smart Boundary
Smart boundary preview functionality was improved

OneCNCXR8 Mill Pocket
Mill pocket with last cut - helix ramp not starting at plunge clearance was corrected.

OneCNCXR8 Mill Profile
Mill Profile rapid Z iwas modified to control the correct clearance.
